Need2Soul head to The Round Chapel with Glenn Underground and Boo Williams as Strictly Jaz Unit

Longstanding London-based promoters Need2Soul return this Sunday to take over one of East London’s most unique venues, The Round Chapel in Hackney, for an extra special bank holiday bash. The all-day party will see Glenn Underground and Boo Williams, two founding fathers of Chicago house, go toe-to-toe with extended sets as they revive their esteemed Strictly Jaz Unit project ahead of a new album on Need2Soul Music.

It’s to be a weekend of revivals it seems, as the album will be the first activity from the label in roughly six years, ever since the acclaimed release of the Need2Soul Vol.2 compilation, mixed by Benji B and Glenn Underground himself.

Glenn’s involvement with the Chicago sound dates back just about as far as anyone to the late ’80s, having played a pivotal role in moulding the sound into one of the most widely exported strains of house worldwide, while Boo burst onto the scene in the mid ’90s and became somewhat of a disciple of Glenn’s. On one of the biggest weekends on the clubbing calendar, this looks set to be the hottest ticket in town – pitching master alongside protegé for what should be a deep and spiritual reunion.
