Premiere: Iron Curtis - Spectral

Premiere: Iron Curtis – Spectral
Adam Tiran

Following our inaugural Premiere from Leeds duo Mak & Pasteman yesterday, we travel a short distance down the M62 to neighbouring Huddersfield for our next instalment from Hudd Traxx. And it’s a perfect soundtrack for a night drive.

Our next selection is taken from the second of the two part ‘Lights’ EP from Nürnberg producer Iron Curtis. Now residing in Berlin, Johannes Paluka is no stranger to the label, having put out a string of high grade dubwise tracks first dating back to 2010, but his latest offerings are arguably his strongest work yet.

‘Spectral’ is an excursion through introspection, its moody, unrelenting groove and minor piano stabs a sign of dark and dreary times. It’s a masterclass in the art of the build; a real low-slung slow-burner that’ll cause dancefloor damage as the night drifts into afters territory.

Lights EP: Part 2 is out on Nov 27th.
