Premiere: Mak & Pasteman - 96 Scene

Premiere: Mak & Pasteman – 96 Scene
Adam Tiran

We’ve been getting some rambunctious tunes in the inbox of late, so recently we’ve been thinking of new ways for us to be sharing more of these with you all. As such, we’ve decided to launch our very own Premieres series, showcasing exclusive forthcoming tracks hand-picked by the team. We know, Premieres are hardly a new idea, but we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here. Rest assured though, you’ll find each and every track featured in this series to be a UE-certified peach.

Kicking us off in fine style, we have the return of a duo forged in the industrial surroundings of Leeds. Initially synonymous with big, chunky bass-driven club cuts, Mak & Pasteman have since trimmed, tailored and refined their sound into the classical house paradigm, harking back to eras gone by with a tasteful nostalgia – as with their recent Dance Trax series. Following recent excursions on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams with DJ Haus and Chicago’s legendary mainstay Chiwax, they continue on that trajectory here with ’96 Scene’, a shuffling piano-led peak-timer reminiscent of good vibes ’90s raves, and the first single off their latest EP on their own Materials imprint. Listen below on Soundcloud or YouTube.

Materials 009 is out now.
