MIRA Festival Reflects Finest in Contemporary Digital Arts

The iconic Funkhaus in Berlin prepares to host Barcelona’s MIRA Digital Arts Festival this coming Saturday, with a full day and night’s worth of audiovisual performances, concerts, conferences, DJ sets and 4DSOUND explorations promising a unique offering within a landmark venue.

On the live-performance front, MIRA welcomes Aïsha Devi (for her world premiere A/V show), Espinoza (Modular Live), Forest Swords, Laurel Halo, Lorenzo Senni and Yves Tumor. DJ sets come via Inga Mauer, Black Merlin and more.

MONOM will also be showcasing emerging spatial sound practices via live shows from Eomac and WaqWaq Kingdom, sound installations by Thomas Ankersmit and Croatian Amor and a retrospective of their extensive catalogue, including pieces by Ioann, Maxime Gordon, Casimir Geelhoed, John Connell, Paul Oomen & Edgard Varese.

Rounding off the schedule, the conferences begin earlier in the day and follow a theme of ‘Emotions, Diversity and Social Change’. Picks include Instinctive Sound: The Exploration of Instincts Through Music with prominent chiptune/gabba maestro Shigeru Ishihara and Diversity and Gender in Music, Digital Art and Technology with Leil Zahra, Mic Oala and Lyra Pramuk.
