A new record store has opened in Dalston on Kingsland High Street. Koncept Music was launched last month by Greg Brockmann, resident DJ for London promoters Half Baked, and offers a refined range of British, European and Stateside house and techno, as well as blues, hip hop and soul, from its stripped-back open brick basement.

The space will also play host to art installations, a bar and coffee shop and the odd in-store event. Last Friday saw Hoxton FM‘s ‘Open’ show take over the shop for a live broadcast with sets from Jane Fitz and Gilles Smith.

Brockmann has been a key member of the Half Baked family since 2009 when the collective announced their arrival to the London party scene. Originally known as East London’s go-to Sunday party, Half Baked has rapidly grown from its humble beginnings, expanding into label territory in 2013, and has hosted showcases across Europe at Off Sonar, ADE and Bermuda Festival in Berlin.

Koncept Music is the latest in a string of stores to open in London over the past 18 months, following Love Vinyl in Hoxton, Do!!You!! Records in Peckham and Turnstyle Records in Streatham.

Grab your tickets for the Koncept Music showcase here, featuring Greg Brockmann, Stephane Ghenacia and Pastaga.
