Having followed Mutated Forms‘ careful progress from the Doubts, Ready When You Are VIP tear-out aggression to the new-school half-tempo aesthetic exuded by Wastegash and Reach You In Your Sleep, it’s come as no real surprise that the boys are continuing to re-define their sound under their new monicker Undercut. A few Soundcloud clips in and it’s clear their new material is about to take off much in the same way – party music minus the pretension or painful monotony of your average club track. Take personal favourite ‘Silhouettes’ for instance: stripped-back and sensual with a vocal hook to die for that operates within the tantalising no-man’s-land between hip-hop and house. Lovely stuff…
