UE.38: Lerosa

UE.38: Lerosa
Jack Smith

Thirty eight?! Boy… time flies huh?

Joining us for the latest in our podcast series is an artist who has quickly became one of our favourites since nestling on our radar – after his Subcouture EP on Bristol flagbearer Idle Hands landed in our inbox, an especially early contender for EP of 2017.

Leopoldo Rosa, otherwise known as Lerosa, has released an impressive 30+ records in just over a decade, and what has grabbed us most throughout his discography isn’t just the maturity in his sound but the sheer wealth of variety that comes with every release. Take Voyageur Nissart, his latest on brand-new label Warm Fiction, as just one example. From A1 to B2 respectively: modular footwork, Prescription-esque deep house, synth electro, Hi-NRG meets Italo. It’s a generous, irresistible range of styles that further soldifies Lerosa’s reputation as a chameleonic ‘master of all’.

And it goes without saying: this variety is ever-present throughout his UE podcast. A sun-kissed tour through sultry Rhodes-led house, broken beat and vocal disco – if this doesn’t single-handedly keep away these ridiculous August flash floods, we don’t know what will. ID crew, leave us a comment on the stream as per and we’ll see what we can do. Happy listening!
