Repress Roundup #2

Repress Roundup #2
Jack Smith

Delroy Edwards – 4 Club Use Only EP [L.I.E.S.]

Not to be confused with the RSD version – which, disappointingly, turned out to be rather flimsy and a little warped (get an EU distributor L.I.E.S!) A real belter of an EP, each track driving forward with unrelenting energy.  But it’s the title-track that gets the nod from us. Big room techno eat your heart out.

In stock at Phonica, Norman.

Lone – Airglow Fires / Begin To Begin [R&S]

Coinciding with the release of Lone’s second LP on R&S Reality Testing, here be a much-needed repress of perhaps his most recognised single. A tale of two halves: the A side’s unabashed bustle versus the B’s dreamy, unassuming plod. Mmmmm.

In stock at Redeye, Juno, Piccadilly.

Marshall Jefferson / Jamie Principle – Move Your Body / Baby Wants To Ride [Trax Records]

Seminal House label Trax have been spoiling us recently with a slew of high-profile represses including this Adonis classic and Phuture’s incredible acid blueprint, and, lo and behold – another week, another Trax repress. Two indispensable cuts from the late 80s.

In stock at Phonica, Redeye.

The Mole – History Of Dates [Perlon]

What’s left to say about Sprinkles’ breathtaking Crossfaderama? An odyssey of a tune and one that was maybe even too accessible as it was rinsed left right and centre at the time of the original release. A future classic for sure… get yours quick!

In stock at Phonica, Juno.

Geinoh Yamashirogumi – Akira – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack [Victory]

Finally the definitive version of Geinoh Yamashirogumi’s wonderful Akira soundtrack? A marked improvement on the unofficial single 12″ release a little earlier in the year, particularly in terms of the package artwork.

ReleaseFormat-122689-1997

In stock at Norman, Bleep.
