Premiere: Generation Next - Jungle 10.10.05

Premiere: Generation Next – Jungle 10.10.05

Our next premiere comes live and direct from the Detroit underground, from a producer with bloodline connection to the legacy of the 313. As the son of Big Strick and first cousin once removed to FXHE boss Omar S, Generation Next follows in the path of two of the city’s most respected champions and is taking it upon himself to push their sound forward.

He’s about to release his sixth solo EP for his old man’s 7 Days Ent. imprint, following a solid series of 12″s dating back to 2013 that explored the clinical tech-leaning sounds of Motor City house.

The Phoenix EP shows a clear development of his sound with a series of broken rhythms in an assortment of settings. ‘Jungle 10.10.05’ is by far the moodiest on the EP, the eerie looped vocals straight out of the book of Burial, placed on top of a skittering beat and propped up by a growling discordant bassline.

Generation Next – Phoenix EP is out on 7 Days Ent. on April 1st.
