Dragosh has been fusing club-ready functionality with soulful richness since first appearing back in 2009. Fast forward to the wintery bluster of January 2018 and it’s business as usual for the Romanian artist, who follows up a couple of EPs for Memoria and Curtea Veche with a slinky three-tracker on Italian imprint Otaku.

Those familiar with Dragosh’s style will relish the offering here, as melody meets micro house in a way that few others can match. And whilst the perfunctorily-labelled B side matches the flip in every department, its Step’s relentless groove that catches our attention most.

With its subtle key changes and fleet-footed percussion across few elements, it’s a glistening advertisement for just how effective – and emotive – Minimal can be in the dance, and indeed otherwise.
