Premiere: Woods 786 - Red Wire

Premiere: Woods 786 – Red Wire
Jack Smith

Italian producer Roberto Bosco, perhaps best known for his releases on Kirk Degiorgio‘s esteemed Applied Rhythmic Technology imprint, returns as Woods 786 with a dreamy slice of stargaze electronica for Takasi Nakajima‘s BM.

An EP that offers the depth in variety usually reserved for projects of a much larger scale, it’d be too easy to divide the sum of its parts into ambient (‘Broken Mind’; ‘Slow Tide’) and four-four (‘Balance’; ‘Red Wire’) respectively. Let’s focus on its pitch-perfect tone instead. To weave feelings such as hope and ecstatic warmth into a restrainedly beautiful sound pallette without any false pretence, cynicism or negative undertones requires a deft touch indeed. Roberto pulls this off with effortless aplomb.

Here we premiere the gorgeous A2 ‘Red Wire‘. An expansive six-minute odyssey which fuses typical Basic Channel and blueprint Detroit sounds to stunning effect.
