Deliciously packaged vinyl material at its finest – Paradox‘s latest release on his own label Paradox Music is a beauty. Following on from the repress success of ‘Scorpius’ / ‘Crate Logic’ on this year’s most consistently excellent label so far, Samurai Music, ‘Drum Machine’ is quintessential Paradox. Rolling, fragmented breaks, distinctive ‘drum machine… beats you bet’ vocal samples cut throughout with generous laces of rumbling subs – this is the producer on top, top form. The fact that the single’s cut on transparent turquoise vinyl with no digital release in sight sweetens the deal just that little bit more. This is quality, enticingly collectable music, and supremely crafted at that – don’t sleep on this one people!
